Eisenhower and the first landing of man on the moon.
These coins were struck from 1971-1974 and feature the special Eagle reverse that is also an adaptation of the official Apollo 11 insignia. After 1971, the dies were modified several times to improve the relief made on the Earth above the eagle, making it more clearly defined. Each coin is sealed in the original U.S. Mint packaging.
This uncirculated 1971 Eisenhower Dollar is struck in 40% silver at the San Francisco Mint. These uncirculated coins are also know as a “Blue Ikes” because of the special blue U.S. Mint envelope they’re packaged in.
